It is absolutely critical that you arrive ON TIME for your surgery! Allow plenty of extra time as traffic might slow you down.
1. Have frozen corn or frozen peas in a zip lock bag ready to be used to help with post operation pain and swelling.
2. Wash your hair the night before or the morning of surgery.
3. Try to have eight hours of sleep the night before surgery.
4. Eat a normal meal the morning of your surgery prior to your arrival at the Center.
5. Take your regular prescription medications, including Propecia, but don't take any of the medicines listed below.
6. Wear a shirt/blouse that buttons down the front so you do not have to pull anything over your head after surgery (which may injure grafts).
7. There is no waiting area in the office for friends or family members to wait while you are in surgery. We will call your driver when you are ready to be picked up.
8. You will need to make arrangements to be driven home the day of your surgery. You will also need someone to stay with you for at least 24 hours after your surgery and bring you back to the office for your first follow-up visit.
9. We will be glad to assist with your travel arrangements before and after your procedure.
10. There are no prescriptions you need to purchase before the surgery, as Dr. Porcaro will supply you with prednisone (to decrease the risk of swelling), an antibiotic and pain pills to be used post operatively.
