The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery/International Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS/IBHRS) is the largest worldwide entity to have established standards for certification for education, training and experience in Hair Restoration Surgery. Physicians who are eligible to apply for ABHRS/IBHRS certification have demonstrated the accumulation of significant experience in the field of Hair Restoration Surgery and have all shown a commitment to high standards of training and education. Those who have achieved certification have demonstrated advanced knowledge in the art and science of hair restoration through peer-reviewed examination. While there is currently no ABMS certification specific to hair restoration, the ABHRS/IBHRS is the only certification recognized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the largest hair restoration educational organization in the world.

In the state of Florida, there are no educational or training requirement for a physician to meet prior to promoting himself/herself as a hair restoration surgeon! Actually, very few physicians performimg hair transplants are real surgeons to begin with!

Hair restoration is being performed by family physicians, dermatologists and even radiologists! The fact is that very few physicians have any significant training in hair restoration or surgery!

In addition to being a medical doctor and a board certified surgeon, Dr Porcaro completed a year long fellowship in hair restoration surgery and is one of about 120 physicians in the USA that has successfully completed the stringent requirements for certification by the American Board of hair Restoration Surgery. Dr Porcaro has performed thousands of hair restoration procedures!

In spite of the economic downturn, we are pleased to inform our patients that we have commenced a build out into the vacant bay next door that will double our office space to 5,000 sq ft.
